    The Pyramid Mansion

    It is by a rainy morning that we reach the edge of the cliff where this curious mansion is hidden. We arrive in front of a small gate, a very strange symbol calls out our attention. A small triangle is engraved in the stone of the wall, without any other indications. No name, or even the remains of a letterbox, just this little gate, and a small path leading into the forest.     Rapunzel’s Castle

    This castle is in itself the perfect representation of the French decadence concerning its heritage, which has been taking place for years. In other words, the abandonment and grotesque modifications of historical buildings in the most total indifference. Of medieval origin, of military and defensive vocation, the building was, over the years, modified, destroyed, and reduced to the simple state of farm. Only the main tower, 25 meters high and amusingly reminiscent of the tower from the Rapunzel tale, testifies to the former prestige of the place.     Lurking deep in the woods, lay hidden the gothic ruins of this mysterious castle of medieval origin… Built around the 1400s by a famous cupbearer of the King of France, it was, over the centuries, acquired by many families and owners, but the castle was recognized as a ruin at the end of the 1700s, and gradually became a stone quarry used for the construction of houses in the region.
